The 2015 Moogly Crochet Along has been out for a couple of weeks now, and I’m a bit behind. I started with Block #2 because Block #1 seemed intimidating. I plan on completing Block #1 this weekend and blocking both squares. Block #3 of the Moogly Afghan CAL is now available, so I’m definitely slacking.
For my afghan, I’m using Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn in six colors:
- Round 1 = Dark Grey Heather
- Round 2 = Pink Rose
- Round 3 = Dusty Blue
- Round 4 = Taupe
- Round 5 = Linen
- Round 6 = Navy
- Round 7 = Pink Rose
- Round 8 = Dusty Blue
I had these colors in my stash, saved for a rainy day. I’m rotating each color, except for the Dark Grey Heather. I don’t want to use it more than once in a block if at all possible. It overshadows the other colors. In this block, I used the Dark Grey Heather to form the ring. I would also like to use the Dusty Blue as the last color in all of the squares.
I love to crochet, but I mostly stick to simple patterns and basic techniques. I found this pattern to be easy to follow, and it also included visuals. It was somewhat challenging, but I enjoyed it.
I”m anxious to see what the whole afghan will look like when it’s finished. I suspect that’s going to be awhile 🙂
