Clean and wash the green beans. Put in a large sauce pot and cover with water. Add salt to taste.
Bring to a boil and cook until tender (about 25 minutes). Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, sauté the garlic cloves in the butter until light brown. The garlic can remain in the pan or thrown away.) Add the beans and sauté for about five minutes or until beans are heated through. Adjust salt and pepper as needed.
