If you like strawberries then you’re sure to like Liquore di Fragole, strawberry liqueur. Fresh strawberries infuse in alcohol for less than 24 hours, which is unlike the 40 day lemon-alcohol infusion period when making Limoncello. It’s quick, easy, and delish!

Liquore di Fragole
Prep Time: 1 day 15 minutes
Total Time: 1 day 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 cups grain alcohol
- 2 pints strawberries
- 4 cups water
- 3 cups sugar
Instructions
- Wash, hull, and halve strawberries. Place prepared strawberries and alcohol in a large glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Let stand at room temperature for about 24 hours, or when the strawberries turn pale and white.
- Remove strawberries from alcohol and discard. Strain alcohol mixture using a cheesecloth two or three times to remove any strawberry remnants and small seeds.
- Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring liquid to a simmer. Heat until sugar completely dissolves and is clear. Let cool. Add the infused alcohol and stir well. Liquore di Fragole can be served immediately.

Hi! I was wondering what exactly grain alcohol is. Can you buy it at the store? Could you use vodka and then add less water to the recipe? Thanks!
Everclear is one brand of grain alcohol. It’s pure alcohol and is used to make liqueurs. You can pick it up in almost any liquor store. Vodka is made from potatoes or other cereal grains. In my opinion, the two have different tastes. Lots of people use vodka instead of grain alcohol when making liqueurs. The typical formula for making liqueurs is equal amounts of sugar and water. I wouldn’t use less water. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much Sherry! I recently made chestnut brandy and that was so much fun. So, I’m thinking about making another type of liquore. Thank you!
Thank you Sherry! I’ll look for Everclear!
