Green beans are a versatile vegetable. They can be dressed up for just about any holiday dinner celebration and they go well with quick weeknight meals like hamburgers or grilled cheese. For our Halloween get together this year, mom sautéed green beans in garlic and butter as a precaution against vampires. It seemed to work well.

Green Beans with Garlic and Butter Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 pounds green beans
- 6 cups of water
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Clean and wash the green beans. Put in a large sauce pot and cover with water. Add salt to taste.
- Bring to a boil and cook until tender (about 25 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, sauté the garlic cloves in the butter until light brown. The garlic can remain in the pan or thrown away.) Add the beans and sauté for about five minutes or until beans are heated through. Adjust salt and pepper as needed.
