It’s time for February’s Favorite Family Recipes blog hop. This month I’m sharing my recipe for Italian Easter Sweet Bread. It’s an Easter favorite at our house along with several other Italian-American dishes. It’s traditional to add colored eggs and sprinkles as decoration. I sometimes don’t add the eggs to the braid. Sprinkles are a must.

I’ve never had Italian sweet bread for Easter. What a joyous celebration
This sounds wonderful Sherry and perfect for Easter! You are so fortunate to continue the tradition of your grandmother in making and sharing one of her favorite family recipes!
Your grandmother sounds like she was a very special lady. Love your story of how she made special baked treats for all the children. I have seen pictures of this Easter Bread many times but didn’t know the stories behind it. I like the colored eggs and especially the sprinkles!
Sherry, What a wonderful tradition this Italian Easter Sweet Bread is and it’s looks so pretty dressed up with the colored eggs for Easter, but I bet it could be enjoyed anytime! Pinning to share!
These look so wonderful. Delicious looking and sounding and perfect. I’ll bookmark this for next Easter. Or maybe I’ll have a sneaky trial in the meantime… 🙂
