I joined a group of bloggers this month for a Dollar Store Craft Challenge. Since I’m behind in my Easter crafts this season, I looked for Easter crafting supplies at Dollar Tree. I found several rolls of spring-themed mesh, chenille stems, a wire wreath form, and decorative eggs. I decided to make an Easter Decorative Mesh Wreath for this month’s Dollar Store Craft Challenge.
Easter Decorative Mesh Wreath Tutorial
I made a full wreath by using 36 bundles of 4 deco mesh strips. Each strip is about 4 inches wide. The bundle of four is tied together with a pink or yellow chenille stem (if you don’t care about the color, one pack of chenille stems will be enough for this project). Six bundles fill each segment in the wreath form. Within each segment, I alternated pink and yellow chenille stems just in case the stems were visible.
Cost
$10
Time
Less than a day
Materials
- 6 packages of 6 in x 5 yd decorative mesh
- 1 or 2 packages 45 count chenille stems
- 1 14-inch wire wreath form
- 2 package of 4 decorative eggs
Supplies
- scissors
Instructions
STEP 1: Cut each roll into 6-inch pieces. Hold 4 pieces together in the center and bind together with a chenille stem. Make 36 bundles.
STEP 2: Attach 6 bundles per rib with the chenille stem attached to the bundle. Arrange and fluff mesh as needed.
STEP 3: Arrange the decorative eggs around the wreath. Attach with a chenille stem. I use the stems already on the bundles for economy. Snip off the wooden stems.
