I saw a simple yet gorgeous ornament in the store the other day. It was a clear glass ornament filled with red and green chunky glitter. The glitter only filled about a quarter of the ornament. It was the perfect ornament to add to my rustic holiday decor. I made a few ornaments of my own, but instead of filling the ornaments with red and green glitter, I used silver and gold chunky glitter that I found in the $1 bins at Target. The glitter sticks to the sides of the bulb, so no adhesive is needed.
This is a simple craft for kids to do, too. I got my grandkids to help me fill the bulbs with glitter, and I tied the trim around the tops of the bulbs.
Follow the tutorial below to make DIY Glitter Ornaments.
DIY Glitter Ornaments Tutorial

- Chunky silver and gold glitter
- Gold or silver trim or ribbon
- Small funnel
STEP 1: Divide the gold and silver chunky glitter into 6 equal parts.
STEP 2: Remove the tops of the ornaments. Insert the small funnel in the top of each ornament and fill with one part glitter. Attach the top to the ornament.
STEP 3: Cut trim into 6, 12-inch strips. Wrap the trim around the top of the bulb once or twice and tie.
