How many ways can we eat chocolate? Dark chocolate at that. My grandmother made chocolate gravy when my mother was young, and served it over hot biscuits that she baked in her wood burning stove. The thick sweet chocolate combined with a hot savory biscuit melts in your mouth leaving you wanting more. For an extra treat, pour the gravy over fruit slices.

Dark Chocolate Gravy Recipe
We use special dark chocolate cocoa in this recipe, but my grandmother always used unsweetened cocoa when she made it. For thinner gravy, add more milk and cook for one minute longer.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup flour
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Add dry ingredients together in a small saucepan.
- Add milk, and stir constantly over medium-high heat so that the dry mixture doesn't become lumpy.
- Bring chocolate mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, and boil for 2 minutes longer. Mixture darkens and thickens as it cooks.
