Caffé Positanos restaurant review: Caffé Positanos seems to be the place to meet up for an early dinner or late lunch. It’s where my girlfriends and I meet when we get together. It’s also the place where we bring our out-of-town Italian relatives and that’s saying something. We’re not complaining, either. The food is some of the best Italian food around—the number one reason we keep going back. It’s also the reason Caffé Positanos restaurant reviews are good. The restaurant is owned by two brothers and two cousins who brought the flavors of Positano, Italy, to Central Florida (read more about the origins of Caffé Positanos). There are two restaurant locations: Apopka and Sanford. I’ve only eaten at the Apopka location, and many times, too.

The restaurant is spacious. It’s warm and inviting and kind of homey feeling. We’re always comfortable enough to sit for a few hours and enjoy our meals and each other’s company. The service is always warm and friendly, and the servers always know by heart the specials of the day. Rarely, if ever, have I asked to see a menu. The specials are always so tempting that all of us order one of them. They offer several specials daily: fish, chicken, vegetarian, I think. The Caffé makes pasta fresh daily, including gnocchi, my personal favorite and my grandmother’s specialty.

I take the whole menu thing back. We always order appetizers even though we know our entrees will have more food than any of us can eat. Still, it’s impossible to eat at the Caffé without sampling one of the mouth-watering appetizers. I usually order the Roasted Red Peppers and Homemade Mozzarella with olive oil, basil, and olives. Sometimes I order the Prosciutto and Homemade Mozzarella or the Antipasto Misto with prosciutto, soprasetta, mortadella, salami, fresh mozzarella, grilled artichokes, roasted peppers, olives, fresh basil, and olive oil. My friends often order the soup of the day. The rolls are excellent, too, and they go great with the appetizers.

You’ll find some of the best Italian food in Central Florida at Caffé Positanos. Lunch is served from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Dinner is served from 3:00 PM to closing. The restaurant offers daily pasta, chicken, and seafood specials, traditional Italian fare, pizza, subs, and awesome desserts. There’s a kids menu, too. (View the menus for all locations.) One of my friends orders pizza from them; she loves it, she says. I haven’t tried the pizza, but the many seafood and chicken specials that I’ve tried are extremely delicious (I can make a pig of myself). We’re mostly stuffed after the appetizers, but we gorge on the entrees, then figure out what we’re having for dessert. I always start with an order of cappuccino. Tiramisu, or a cannoli, soon follows.

Prices are typical of Central Florida Italian restaurants. The quality of the food is always excellent and the service is consistently good. Whatever we order, the servings are a good size. We always have leftovers to take home (and that’s a good thing).
