Broadway Ristorante & Pizzeria has been around for years. I’m sure I’ve eaten at all of its Central Florida locations. The newest ristorante is located in Winter Park at the corner of Goldenrod Road and University Boulevard in the old K-Mart-turned-Publix plaza.
Unlike its previous locations, Winter Park offers a full service bar, a large outdoor patio dining area, and substantial seating inside. It looks and feels more like a ristorante than an order-at-the-counter pizzeria.
As always, the food is wonderful. I’m partial to the pizza, but I’ve sampled a little of everything over the years. I’m never disappointed. The menu includes appetizers such as bruschettas, calamari, fries, wings, and mozzarella sticks. Thai peanut, Sesame Oriental, Buffalo chicken, and Antipasto are among the many salads on the menu.
Broadway also offers a variety of stacked subs, hot subs, cold subs, and breakfast subs along with the soup-of-the day and minestrone.
Pizza is by far the most popular fare. In addition to over 34 pizza toppings, including clams, shrimp, and mandarin oranges, Broadway offers many speciality pizzas like Oriental Chicken, BBQ Cheeseburger, and Mediterranean Veggie. If you’re not into sharing your pie, order a calzone or stromboli.
Entrees, of course, include traditional Italian dinners such as Eggplant Parmesan, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Chicken Florentine, Shrimp Scampi, Eggplant Rollatini, Lasagna, and Baked Ziti.
If you have any room left, make sure you try one of the many delicious desserts. I’m partial to the cannoli–traditional or chocolate–but the zeppole and cheesecake are good choices too.
Appetizers range from $3.99 – $10; Wings are $7.99 – $29.99; Salads start at $4.49 – $9.00; Subs (stacked, hot, cold, or breakfast) $5.79 – $9.00; Entrees begin at $8.49 – $15.99; Pizza, depending on the size and toppings start at $9.99; and, Desserts are $3.49 – $7.00.
I haven’t had the opportunity to order one of the many speciality bar shots or cocktails that are advertised, but if the food is a good measure of quality then I’m sure the drinks are on top.
