Looking for easy Halloween recipes? Here are 25 quick and easy Halloween Fun Foods that are frightfully delicious. Most of these recipes only need a few ingredients, too. Some of these fun foods are every day recipes dressed up for Halloween. How easy is that!
1. Chilled Brains. Fill a brain, skull, heart, or hand gelatin mold with crab or shrimp spread and chill until firm. Turn the mold out on a bed of lettuce and serve with crackers or sliced veggies. Add a drop or two of food color to give the mold a slight tint.
2. Swamp Salad. Dress up carrot salad by topping it off with a couple of gummie eyeballs and worms.
3. Witches’ Brew. This punch recipe is a big hit with kids and adults. Use a flavored sherbet like lime, lime drink, Ginger Ale, 7-Up, and green gummie worms. Change it up by swapping the sherbet, drink flavor (sometimes we use orange sherbet and orange drink like Hi-C or raspberry sherbet and fruit punch), and the color of the gummies. You can also freeze a skull, hand, or heart then drop it in the punch to keep it cold.
4.Witch Hats. These super cute treats are made by attaching a chocolate kiss to the back of a fudge-striped shortbread cookie using a dab of orange frosting.
5. Chilling Chili Cheese Dip. Mix together melted cheese, tomatoes with chilies, and no bean chili for this tasty dish. Serve with Halloween (black and orange) tortilla chips. You can find these chips at Aldi’s and Walmart.
6. Vampire Poke Cake. It’s not a holiday without a poke cake! Bake a white cake, poke, then pour red Jell-O all over. Ice with white frosting then drizzle red decorating gel on top.
7. Halloween Pasta Salad. Pick up a bag of Halloween pasta and add diced tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil, and a bit of extra virgin olive oil.
8. Frightful Finger Cookies. A few props can really sell these spooky cookies. Color sliced almond pieces with red or black food color, then bake with sugar cookie dough in a frightful finger pan. Tint cookies or dust in colored sugar for the dead effect.
9. Trick or Treat Pretzel Sticks. Dip pretzel rods in melted chocolate then roll in Halloween colored candy sprinkles.
10. Dem Bones. Sugar cookies baked as bone shapes, then dusted with colored sugar or tinted slightly with food color to add the spooky dead effect.
11. Eerie Empanadas. Lidia, my son in-law’s mother, makes delicious empanadas. She reshaped these small pastries just a bit to look like frog faces then used sliced green olives for the eyes.
12. Halloween Bundt Cake. Make this semi homemade bundt cake by coloring chocolate and white cake batters with food coloring pastes. Then layer the two batters in a bundt cake pan.
13. Meat Head. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese all over a food safe skull. Then layer thinly sliced cold cuts (prosciutto works well) over skull. Layer assorted cold cuts around skull. Use a bit of cream cheese and attach large black olives in sockets. If you don’t have a food safe skull, cover the skull in clear plastic wrap after applying cream cheese. You will also need to apply a thin layer of cream cheese to plastic wrap before attaching cold cuts.
14. Mud Monsters. Dress up these no bake chocolate oatmeal peanut butter cookies by adding a pair of edible candy eyes to each cookie.
15. Halloween Goody Bars Oatmeal chocolate chip bars decorated with Halloween colored chocolate candies. These are always a big hit.
16. Halloween Banana Pops. Cut bananas in half, freeze, then dip in melted chocolate. Dust with your favorite Halloween sprinkles.
17. Caramel Apples. Dip small apples in melted caramel. Dust with Halloween candy sprinkles.
18. Halloween Dark Chocolate Ganache Cupcakes. Bake dark chocolate cupcakes then top with a dark chocolate ganache. Dust with Halloween candy sprinkles.
19. Spider Eggs. Make a batch of deviled eggs. Cut large black olives in half then cut one half in several strips. Place olive half in center of each egg. Arrange a couple of strips on each egg to resemble scorpion legs.
20. Pumpkin Fluff Dip. Scoop out the inside of a small cooking pumpkin. Mix together vanilla pudding, cool whip, and a can of pumpkin, and fill the cavity of the small pumpkin with the mixture. Serve with vanilla wafers.
21. Graveyard Brownies. Cut brownies in tombstone shapes with cookie cookies. Decorate each tombstone by attaching candy bones to brownie with a touch of frosting.
22. Halloween Shots. Small Halloween figures filled with alcohol. Use small Halloween cookie cutters or small ice cube molds to make these adult treats.
23. Wicked Chocolate Martini. Add a chocolate kiss to the bottom of a martini glass. Cover with a clear chocolate martini. Double yum.
24. Bloody Pomegranate Cosmo. Make a pomegranate cosmo. Decorate rim of glass with red sugar.
25. Alien Eggs (not pictured). Add food safe alien or skeleton hands to a dish of sweet and sour meatballs. Pick up these small skeleton hands at Party City, Halloween City, Spirit Halloween, Walmart, and Target.
