My Halloween party is in two days. This year the signature drink is a wicked chocolate martini. Not just any chocolate martini, but a clear chocolate martini with just the right amount of wicked. The drink can be a little surprising to those who try it for the first time. The clear liquid packs a wicked punch followed by an explosion of decadent chocolate and a prize of a dark chocolate kiss. It’s definitely sweet. It’s more like drinking dessert rather than drinking a cocktail.
Of course, I decided this after I emptied my attic of all Halloween decorations; right after I shoved them in my living room and dining room and kitchen. Oh yeah, and some in my bedroom. In the middle of the floor. Just sitting there taking up valuable space, waiting for me to move them. I can’t, though, until I sample my Halloween signature drink—my wicked chocolate martini.
It’ll be a mad rush to get everything done in time for the party (seems like this is the pattern every year). What I can’t put out, I’ll shove under my bed and in the closet. What doesn’t fit there can fit in the garage, maybe. There’s always the bathtub.
Things would probably move a little faster if I stopped testing the recipe. Why, though? It’s Halloween after all.
Then again, I can get a lot done in two days.
Wicked Chocolate Martini Recipe
- 1½ shots crème de cacao
- ¾ shot vodka
- ¾ shot vanilla vodka
- Hershey's Dark Chocolate Kisses
In a cocktail shaker, add crème de cacao, the vodkas, and ice. Cover, and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain to remove ice, and pour into a martini glass. Add one piece of dark chocolate (I use dark chocolate kisses).
