Planning a holiday get together? Try a DIY Hot Cocoa Bar. It’s a wonderful instrument for getting friends and family together during the holidays. Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? For variety, expand the bar by adding flavored teas and coffees.
Setting Up A DIY Hot Cocoa Bar
Most everything you need to set up a DIY Hot Cocoa Bar can be picked up at the grocery store. I like to use holiday decorated mugs, a few ornaments, and small pieces of garland to decorate the bar. I made a Hot Cocoa Bar printable for the sign plus small labels for the containers. Use holiday dessert cups to hold the toppings or small 4 oz mason jars with printable self-adhesive labels.
Not sure what you want to include in your hot cocoa bar? I’ve put together a suggested list of supplies and ingredients. Add or delete from the list to suit your taste.
- holiday mugs
- to go cups with lids
- sweetened hot cocoa mix
- hot milk
- milk pitcher
- topping containers
- squeeze bottles
- extra-large peppermint coated marshmallows
- miniature marshmallows
- toffee bits
- mini chocolate chips
- crushed peppermints
- candy canes spoons
- chocolate spoons
- Pirouette cookies
- chocolate sticks
- whipped cream
- dark chocolate and other flavored syrup
- liqueurs like Kahlúa or Bailey’s
