I found a 6 x 6 pad of Valentine-themed cardstock last year in the Target bargain bins. My granddaughter and I pulled out my stash of Valentine crafts supplies and went to work. Her card was much more sophisticated than mine. It was covered in bling and beautiful pink and red pom poms. I went for a simple design and focused on using the cardstock as my only material.
DIY Hearts Valentine Card Tutorial
- Valentine, love, or hearts themed card stock, at least 6 x 6, 3 colors or patterns
- glue gun
- glue sticks
- a scoring tool with a ruler
STEP 1: To make the DIY Hearts Valentine Card, select three sheets of contrasting and complimentary cardstock.
STEP 2: Trim the first sheet to 6 x 6, if needed. Select a contrasting pattern or color; trim card to 5-1/4 x 5-1/4. Center card on top of larger card and glue into place.
STEP 3: Use the third sheet of cardstock to cut out two hearts. Some cardstock is double-sided. Flip one heart over to get a contrasting pattern.
