While on a cruise to the Caribbean, dad and mom stopped at a port in Labadee, Haiti, for a day of fun and sun. They were cruising with Royal Caribbean International and Labadee is one of their private islands. They decided to have a Labadoozie, which is a rum drink developed for the island guests by Royal Caribbean.
While dad was waiting at the bar, he decided to have a Corona beer instead of the Labadoozie. For safety reasons, the bartenders pour the beer from the glass bottle into a plastic Corona bottle with a wide neck for ease of drinking. A woman noticed the strange-looking bottle and asked him what was in it. During this conversation, she asked if him had ever had a Corona with rum and lemon. He had not, but he tried it when he got home, and he’s happy to say that he really enjoyed it. Careful—it will sneak up on you.
- 1 bottle of cold Corona beer (12 ounces)
- 1½ ounces of rum
- Squeeze of lemon
- Mix beer, rum and lemon together, stirring gently. Adjust rum to taste and drink.
