It’s apple season, and I picked up a few varieties to make candy and caramel apples for our Halloween get together. Today my mom made baked apples, a family favorite, with a couple of braeburn apples. Mom fills her apples with pecans and brown sugar, but raisins and cinnamon are also delish.
Baked Apples Recipe
- 2 large apples
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 pecan halves
Wash and then cut off the top of each apple. Core the apples making sure to remove all of the seeds but do not go through the bottom of the apple.
Mix the butter and brown sugar together. Fill each apple with the brown sugar and butter mixture. Place two pecan halves on top of each apple.Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
